Clinton Further Implicated in Uranium One Scandal

New evidence reveals that Clinton worked with Rosatom and was directly lobbied by Podesta Group

It has become cliché to refer to the “Clinton Crime Family.” Unfortunately that seems to be an understatement.

Of current interest is the story of how a small town girl from Chicago ended up profiting from the sale of 1/5th of the US highly enriched uranium market to Russian energy company, Rosatom. The New York Times gave a good rundown of the scheme in 2015.

Hillary has, of course, denied any wrongdoing, but new information is making that position more and more untenable. It feels like the email server all over again: deny every allegation then grudgingly concede each one to a friendly news outlet.

The story starts back in 2010 when Hillary and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov signed a Plutonium Disposition Protocol. The agreement committed each country to dispose of 34 metric tons of weapon-grade plutonium. This followed a 2009 US-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission at which Rosatom head, Sergei Kiriyenko, lead the working group on Nuclear Energy and Nuclear Security. Hillary was the Commission Coordinator for the US, therefore her claim to not know Kiriyenko is absurd.

From that point on, if one only looked at Hillary, she had no private contact with Russians related to nuclear energy and very little official contact. But she has lots of friends in high places, an influential husband, and a personal foundation slash slush fund. Similarly, Rosatom hid its involvement by acquiring a third party Canadian-owned company Uranium One to use as a shell company.

John Podesta is a longtime advisor to both Clintons and was campaign manager for Hillary’s 2016 presidential campaign. His brother Tony runs The Podesta Group, a lobbying organization in Washington, D.C. From 2012 through 2015 Uranium One (aka Rosatom) paid The Podesta Group to lobby relevant government agencies including the State Department headed by Hillary Clinton. During this same time the head of Uranium One donated millions to the Clinton Foundation and Bill was paid $500K to give a speech in Russia.

Robert Mueller has been tasked with investigating President Trump for possible ties to Russia. In an ironic twist, it is Hillary’s ties to Russia that have had the most impact. Everyone at The Podesta Group who was involved with Uranium One lobbying has stepped down including Tony Podesta, Kimberley Fritts, Paul Brathwaite, and Stephen Rademaker. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is even considering naming special counsel to investigate the Clinton Foundation.

Given this information, Hillary had to have at least been aware of the nuclear deal with Rosatom. With her ties to one of the two lobbying groups hired by Uranium One, it is more likely that she was intimately familiar with the details. It is unlikely that Hillary will ever face any consequences for her actions, but regardless, we need to find out how we can prevent this kind of corruption in our government in the future.
